One of the problems with this console is due to the internal battery of an integrated that after all these years is surely dead. When they designed this car, they certainly didn't consider what would happen after more than 20 years. Probably it was not expected that these consoles would be recovered and still used, in fact now we find ourselves in this situation where it is not possible to replace the battery because it is internal in the chip and without this we cannot keep the saves or the console clock.
So what do we do?
There are 2 ways, either you buy a new integrated that will have the same problem in the future, or you ingenuity and connect an external battery.
This integrated already has a battery placed above the chip and immersed in the resin in the lower part, so you need to be careful and start digging slowly until you find its pins, disconnect one of them (or remove the whole battery but it takes more time and precision) and solder a new CR2032 battery into the 2 pins.
You can find everything in this video, the steps are not complicated but you have to be careful otherwise you risk ruining the chip or worse getting hurt since you will have to use a circular saw.
